We pride ourselves on our dedicated and highly trained teachers.  Due to our excellent ratio of boy and truck4 or 5 children to 1 teacher, we are able to closely look at each child’s level of development and work with them one-on-one and in small groups to support them in their growth and skills.

Amy Webb, M.S.Ed., Teacher - Director
Amy brings to her work with young children and families a focus on play and child development. She strives to create a classroom environment that fosters young children’s social growth and independence. She is particularly interested in the internal and social processes young children go through as they negotiate new experiences. Amy enjoys working with families as they negotiate these phases of change, too. She is committed to professional development, mentoring, and the growth of the Early Childhood field through organizations like NAEYC. Some of her favorite classroom activities are yoga, art, music and science. Amy holds an A.B. from Duke, a Master’s from Bank Street and is on the faculty of City College.

Katherine Marcus, M.S.Ed., Head Teacher
Katherine joins BPCN with many years of experience in nursery schools throughout New York City, working in toddler settings through the 4/5’s. A practitioner of mindfulness with regard to the multiple contexts that support and impact the lives, the learning, and the growth of children, the collaborative classroom, and families, it is her passion to facilitate and develop a responsive integrated environment and curricula that carefully listens to the interests and concerns of children, nurtures unhurried play, and inspires joyful hands on engagement, inquiry, observation, and paintingproblem solving. Play, social learning, the interests of children and the celebration of creativity are core values and key to supporting the journey that each child takes over time as a learner and towards the ability to construct his/her knowledge. Katherine received her Master’s degree from the Bank Street College of Education and her B.F.A. in Music, violoncello performance, from the California Institute of the Arts.

Nan Bleemer, MA, Assistant Teacher
Nan Bleemer is thrilled to be returning for her third year as Assistant Teacher at BPCNS, where she has taught music and developed the creative dramatics curriculum.  Nan has taught theater, music and playwrighting to students from the preschool through the college level.  She brings a background as a performer and playwright to her work with the children and she loves singing and playing with them!  Nan first fell in love with Broadway Pres. when her younger son was a student here.  She holds a BA in English and Theater from Princeton, an MA in Educational Theater from NYU and she is working towards a Masters in Early Childhood Education at City College.
